Theme: “World Book Day” / “International Day of Happiness”
Description
The celebrations of World Book Day (April 23) and International Day of Happiness (March 20), promoted by the Fundhas Storytelling Project, highlighted the convergence of culture, education, and socio-emotional well-being, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to the comprehensive development of children and adolescents.
In celebration of World Book Day, FUNDHAS hosted the “Children’s and Youth Storytelling Festival – Ciranda de Histórias.” The activity aimed to awaken the joy of reading and consolidate a reading culture among children and adolescents, involving pedagogical stages of preparation, rehearsals, and literary presentations. The participation of actress, poet, and writer Daniella Peneluppi enriched the project’s final event, which culminated in the presentation of six literary narratives. The results revealed significant impacts, such as strengthening oral and physical expression, encouraging active listening, developing children’s autonomy and empowerment, and expanding social integration. The initiative directly contributed to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 4, 10, and 16, reaching 120 spectators from different units of the institution.
In celebration of the International Day of Happiness, the activity “And the Circus Arrived” was held, using the language of circus arts as a playful resource to promote joy, creativity, and coexistence among children, adolescents, and professionals. The initiative recognized laughter, play, and affection as fundamental dimensions of human development, fostering the creation of positive memories and strengthening socio-emotional bonds. Held at 10 units of the Specialized Directorate for Children and Adolescents, the initiative reached approximately 800 people and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to valuing emotions, fostering a culture of peace, and respect. This proposal aligns with SDGs 3, 4, 10, and 16.
By integrating reading encouragement with experiences focused on socio-emotional well-being, FUNDHAS demonstrates the power of educational initiatives that seek to unite culture, joy, and coexistence.
