Description
The creation of the FUNDHAS Maker Lab in October 2024 represented a significant milestone for the institution, consolidating a space for innovation and experimentation that, throughout 2025, enhanced the dissemination of maker culture and the do-it-yourself concept.
In this environment, workshops, training sessions, and training sessions were held, articulating innovation and sustainability practices for approximately 2,500 children and adolescents served by the Child and Adolescent Department’s Units, with an emphasis on recycling, reuse, and repurposing techniques. The activities encouraged participants’ proactive approach, fostering collaborative learning, creativity, and the development of skills aligned with contemporary societal demands.
It is worth highlighting the conceptual intersection between the Maker Culture Lab and the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology: both reinforce values such as innovation, scientific curiosity, the exploration of new knowledge, and collaboration. In this sense, the project not only strengthens the comprehensive education of participants but also promotes FUNDHAS’s integration into a global agenda that values science, technology, and sustainability, aligning with SDGs 4, 10, 11, 12, and 16.
It is worth noting that training was also provided to 12 educators, focusing on developing skills in maker practices. This initiative allows professionals to share their learning with children and adolescents in the various FUNDHAS service units, ensuring the continuity of practices and the impact of the proposal on daily socio-educational activities.
