Theme: “International Day of Peace”
Description
FUNDHAS promoted a series of activities in honor of the International Day of Peace (September 24th), reaffirming its commitment to the comprehensive education of children and adolescents and to building a society based on respect, harmonious coexistence, and the appreciation of diversity. The initiatives carried out in different units and contexts demonstrated the breadth of institutional strategies, which combined art, reflection, and social mobilization with the promotion of a culture of peace.
The Southern Innovation Center presented the project “Words that Heal: The Poetry of Forgiveness, Happiness, and Peace.” The initiative resulted from a process built over several months, with stages of awareness raising, literary production, and preparation of the cultural exhibition. The proposal integrated literature, art, dance, emotional intelligence, and artificial intelligence, encouraging youth empowerment, artistic sensitivity, critical thinking, and the strengthening of socio-emotional skills. The result was materialized in the e-book “Words that Heal,” available in digital format via QR Code, a symbol of humane education and the recognition of youth talent.
The Eugênio de Melo Innovation Center promoted the “Everyone Against Bullying” project, which sought to raise awareness among adolescents about the impacts of bullying in different contexts and reinforce the importance of empathy, shared responsibility, and mutual respect. The initiative combined reflection circles, individual and collective commitments, and a creative production phase, in which the young people created posters, poems, and messages with proposals for combating bullying and strengthening a culture of peace.
On the official date of International Peace Day (September 24th), a celebration was held at the institution’s headquarters, bringing together employees and clients in a symbolic act of valuing peaceful principles. The event included the raising of flags, including the Peace Flag, as well as an exhibition of drawings and poems produced by the adolescents. The Manifesto for Peace was also read and signed, reinforcing the importance of dialogue, respect, and harmonious coexistence within and outside the institutional space. The aforementioned actions demonstrated FUNDHAS’s ability to articulate educational, artistic and reflective practices in favor of human and social development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDGs 3, 4, 10 and 16.
