Orange May

Theme: “Orange May”

Description

May 18th marks National Day to Combat Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, a day of national mobilization focused on preventing child sexual violence.
The initiatives developed by FUNDHAS emphasize education and awareness among its audience, with the theme “Do the Right Thing. Protect Our Children and Adolescents.” The educational approach was conducted in a playful and respectful manner, reinforcing fundamental rights such as protection, listening, and care.

The proposal is aligned with SDGs 4, 5, 16, and 17, contributing to the strengthening of inclusive, responsible, and quality education, the promotion of gender equality, social justice, and the establishment of intersectoral partnerships. The initiative was carried out through joint efforts with ARCA and CRAS Sul, with the support of the psychosocial team and educators.

In the conversation circles entitled “Conversation that Protects,” topics such as “protection,” “affection,” “safe touch,” and “touch that bothers” were addressed, always in a sensitive and accessible manner. The activities involved approximately 1,500 children and adolescents in a welcoming and participatory environment, facilitated by teachers, psychologists, and social workers.

These activities are part of the institutional calendar and continue throughout the year, consolidating themselves as ongoing preventive education practices, essential for the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents.
