International Women’s Day

Theme: “International Women’s Day

Description

The “International Women’s Day” project, held in March, had as its central purpose the strengthening of self-esteem and the promotion of female empowerment among adolescents and members of the community served by FUNDHAS. The initiative sought to provide a safe and welcoming space for reflection, dialogue, and the appreciation of female identity, in line with the principles of gender equality and human dignity.

The program included discussion groups, workshops, interactive activities, and artistic experiences, led with the support of experts, enabling a multidimensional approach to essential topics such as female empowerment, gender equality, self-care, and mutual respect. These activities contributed to expanding the participants’ critical thinking and heightening their awareness of their rights, responsibilities, and transformative potential.

The project reached 180 adolescents, in addition to involving the surrounding community, with an emphasis on socially vulnerable groups. The results demonstrated positive impacts, reflected in participants’ increased awareness of the importance of their voice and their role as protagonists of their own stories, as well as in fostering their ability to transform their realities through knowledge and personal development.

The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 4, 5, and 10, as they seek to foster transformative educational processes; promote equity and the empowerment of women in different contexts; and offer opportunities for personal and social empowerment to groups in situations of greater vulnerability.
