World Environment Day | Pororoca

Theme: “Pororoca Movement

Description

The UNESCO Chair for Ocean Sustainability aims to promote the understanding and appreciation of the pororoca, a fascinating phenomenon that occurs when river waters meet the ocean, manifesting itself most intensely in the Amazon region. Through this study, UNESCO aims to bring society closer to the ocean, joining efforts and sharing initiatives to strengthen Ocean Culture and the sustainability of our seas. In this context, we decided to use the interaction between river and sea as a powerful metaphor to address friendship and the importance of networking in our professional relationships. Thus, we seek to create an environment of trust and mutual respect among participants, foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the two groups, develop communication and teamwork skills, and promote reflection on the importance of interpersonal relationships in both personal and professional life.
